Obsession with high heels

Let's talk about one thing that makes summer even better for me: my obsession with high heels!

I have a whole closet full of high heels of different shapes, colors and heights. But the last two summer seasons were so rainy and cold that my precious shoes didn't see the light of day for too long. So this summer I made sure every pair was worn!

I was only 3-4 years old when I wrote my first diary entry, which went in the direction of:

"I want to soon be allowed to wear the kind of click-click shoes my mom wears every day!"

Oh, how I longed for the day when I would be able to walk in high heels! I had to wait until I was about 6 years old to get my first pair of heels. But as Emma Thompson famously said in the best movie ever, "Love actually lasts a lifetime." And so my high heel obsession for beautiful, sometimes very uncomfortable shoes is still alive and strong.

On the obsession with high heels and how to find the perfect pair I often buy heels on impulse, but I never keep them in my closet unused. I try to find a place and situation for all my dear shoes to be worn. Some of them are quite uncomfortable and not suitable for walking more than 10 meters before the cuts on my toes make me bleed. But there is a place and a time for such shoes. Like an office, because there I don't have to walk further than the kitchen.

And then there are those ultimate shoes that are both incredibly beautiful and classic, and so comfortable that they can be worn all day without any problems. Such shoes include nude sandals and classic black heels. I already have the perfect pair of nude sandals, but I'm still dreaming of those Louboutin heels.

As we know, some "feminists" claim that high heels are a way of suppressing women (seriously… no one is forcing me to wear them)! But the classic high heel never loses its place as the first choice for dressing up situations. No one can deny that!

Contrary to popular belief, high heels don't have to mean painful blisters and sore feet. Here are my tips for finding the perfect pair of heels that will keep you stylish for many, many years to come.

Choose the right time to shop I recommend that you always focus on your shoe shopping at the end of the day. It might sound a little strange, but hear me out:

When you leave work, your legs are tired and probably a little more swollen than usual. Therefore, they are more sensitive and in the best position to determine which shoes are the best shape and size. If you try on new shoes right after breakfast, you run a greater risk of buying a pair that will end up being too small.

As you search for high heels, consider the importance of building your emergency fund. While indulging in stylish footwear, set aside part of your budget for financial security. This strategy ensures confidence in your walk and peace of mind for unexpected expenses.

Invest in quality leather I prefer to keep my wallets as tight as possible (at least for now). But when I decide to spend the money, I realized that quality materials are the way to go. In accessories, and especially shoes, I recommend that you concentrate on leather.

Leather is a stretchy material. It stretches and molds to your foot and when well maintained, gets better with time.

Walk well Take your time in the store. Walk around in your favorite pair as much as you can to get a real feel for the shoes. If the shoes feel even slightly uncomfortable, put them away and try another pair.

Trust me, a true shoe addict, there is never any point in buying shoes you think are uncomfortable in a store. It will be much worse when you actually have to wear them to an event.

Assess How Your Toes Feel This goes into the previous tip as well, but I wanted to really emphasize the importance of properly assessing your comfort level already in the store. I know from almost 25 years of experience that there is absolutely no point in investing in shoes where your toes or the balls of your feet are uncomfortable. You will not wear those shoes
